Instead of burning up all your fuel take these last couple of weeks and create a vessel for the embers of your fire. Early natives would move from hearth to hearth carrying the embers from their last fire with them to help them get started at their new location. Fire uncontrolled consumes everything, until it burns itself out. However a well tended coal can keep burning long after the flames recede.
